Determinants motivational and perceptual that influence in the attainment of the teaching career, of the students of Physics and Mathematics of the National University of Education "Enrique Guzmán y Valle". Period 2018

It is a descriptive-comparative type research, finding significant differences for the extrinsic motivations, in the students who chose the professional career as the first choice (M1= 29,80 + 2,859) over the ones they chose as the second choice (M2= 26,53+ 3,681) for a T (28) = 2,714 a p = 0.011 <0.05. Regarding their perception of the profession, they consider the "Return of the profession" in students they chose as their first choice (M1= 16,80 + 3,005) over those they chose as their second choice (M2= 13,13+ 3,461) presents statistical significance for a T (28) = 3.098 a p = 0.004 <0.05. Likewise, higher values were found for "Educator as a profession" among those who chose the profession as the first choice, for (M1= 49,67 + 5,702) on those who chose as second choice (M2= 44,07+ 4,788) for a T (28) = 2.913 a p = 0.007 <0.05. We agree with: Gratacós (2014) and Garcia (2010), who find similar results for extrinsic motivation, related by conditions external to their person, new future expectations, rewards, projects towards an improvement in their social status. The examinee studies the career by personal initiative of improvement, but there is still a considerable risk in the student who does not continue with his studies in education within his life plan.
